Vietnam Veterans Social Group
RSL Care SA provides an opportunity for Vietnam veterans to socialise with peers.
This pilot program aims to provide a safe and positive environment for Vietnam veterans to socialise and participate in a range of activities.
The program is available for Vietnam veterans who may be residing permanently or in respite within RSL Care SA. This includes our residential care facilities, retirement living or affordable housing accommodation. Vietnam Veterans connected to Ward 17, from other care facilities and those living within the broader community are welcome.
The intent of the day program is to maintain the close bonds of comradeship, socialisation and esprit-de-corps created by members of the Australian Defence Forces who served in South Vietnam during the period of the Vietnam conflict. A range of health promoting education and social activities are on offer to better equip participants to make healthier lifestyle choices that will positively impact their ageing process.
The Social Support program runs weekly
Wednesdays from 1100 – 1430
The program is free for Vietnam veterans to participate, and lunch is provided.
